Are you nervous or apprehensive about driving?
That’s understandable. We take things at your pace. We always drive on the first lesson to a quiet area to discuss the controls within the car first. Then, when you do get moving , we don’t shout and we don’t mind you making mistakes. We also have dual controls ( clutch and brake on passenger side of car) so we can intervene physically (changing your speed and gear, steering and stopping the car) all from the passenger side, while you get used to things. We can also intervene verbally, talking to you calmly as you go and helping you plan things ahead.
When will I be ready for my practical driving test?
When you’ve completed the lesson syllabus (on The Learning to Drive page) and Passed a MOCK test!
How many hours will it take me to learn to drive?
Everyone learns at a different pace. My own experience in the years I’ve been doing this is anything between 8 (with a lot of independent practise)! – 80 hours! Usually somewhere in the middle of those numbers is often the case. Recent DVSA studies indicate (excuse the pun)! that nationally the AVERAGE hours are 47 hours of instruction as well as 20 hours of independent practise (e.g with family member etc ) is needed
